Legacy skate brand The Girl Skate co. was looking to update a small table lamp they had produced in 2017. They wanted to have the new design incorporate plastic elements to make it more accessible.

We generated a mood board to help determine the best ways to make use of both wooden and plastic elements in the design.

Initial sketching focused on ideating ways that the plastic could be formed and edge lit.

The final decision was to mimic the original lamp form, but to have it be edge lit from beneath.
