Key Ideas

Hope

Unity

Healing

From these Key Ideas, I was able to identify criteria that would define a successful concept:

1. Focus on Humanity

2. Facilitate Healing

I created this version of Norman Rockwell’s “Freedom from Want” as a guiding image

Connection, and community will be key to building hope, creating unity, and facilitating healing. The memorial should be a functional sculpture. A table is a place of shared experience, and of utility. It connects us to our family, our history, and our present.

Perhaps it may be able to connect us with those who are no longer with us, and to help us connect with those who are still are.
